Tonya and Tosin Abari
of Laurel, Maryland
“Welcome to New York and Happy Valentines Day! It is an honor, and our
pleasure to have you here today. There was a famous movie called “An Affair To
Remember” that began the tradition of getting married on Valentines Day here at
the Empire State Building. They called this place “the nearest thing to Heaven we
have in New York”

Tosin, your beautiful bride said on the night you proposed, you made her feel like
the most loved woman in the world.  She was swept away by her Prince
Charming. That moment took place in sight of this building.  We are honored to
have you both here today.

How thrilled you must have been when they called and told you that you had
won.  To be married here at the Empire State Building, at the top of the city
celebrates the history that you share.  For the past 7 years you have both worked
hard to lay the foundations of a long and happy life together, and the past behind
you is like the foundation that supports this structure. Your friendship, your love,
the honesty and trust that you share, and your willingness to give wholeheartedly
to one another even before yourselves, these are the steel and mortar of your
marriage.

Today you will make the promise of a lifetime shared.  You stand together at the
highest of heights, and with dreams of the future you shall together create the life
you envision, as wondrous and beautiful as the view you share on this day.
What better way to begin such a miraculous journey than with a prayer for their
happiness.

Gracious God, our hearts are filled with great happiness
on this the wedding day of Tonya and Tosin.
They have come before you,
pledging their lives and their hearts to one another.
Grant that they may be ever true and loving,
living together in a way that shall ever nurture
the soul of their marriage.
Temper their hearts with kindness and help them to be sweethearts, helpmates,
friend and guide,
So that together, may they meet the cares
and problems of life more bravely.
May their home truly be a place of love and harmony where your Spirit is ever
present.
Bless their wedding day, we pray,
and walk beside them, through all their life together.
This we ask through our Lord Jesus Christ,
Who lives and reigns with you,
In the unity of the holy spirit,
One God, for ever and ever. Amen”
