Melanie and Joseph Castine
of Philadelphia, PA

~ Opening Words ~

“Happy Valentines Day, and welcome back! Ten years of love, marriage, and
visiting the Empire State Building every year on your anniversary like clockwork.
Today we are happy to celebrate the love you have in your hearts and have found
in one another’s arms. Your connection to this building began ten years ago while
you were living on Roosevelt Island and enjoyed the enchanting view and ever
changing lights of the Empire State Building. It has since become a symbol of love
and commitment to you. Whenever you return to this special city, the vision of your
“Chapel in the Sky” serves as a reminder of your special bond to each other, to this
building and to New York. Your relationship stands just as tall and strong as this
structure, changing with the years but never changing your substance or your love.
You’re here to say to one another and to the world that what you have is so good
that you’d do it over and over again. We are honored to have you here today and to
be able to celebrate with you in the life that you share.”

~ Wine Ceremony ~

“Melanie and Joseph, will you each pick up your glass
and bring to mind your promises, the honor and integrity with you have made them
and your shared hopes and dreams… and toast to one another?

Couple raise their glasses toast and drink

And will you offer of yourself and your promise to the center glass…..

Bride and Groom pour some of their wine into the center glass

Joseph, Melanie, remember always that your marriage is a whole and like all wholes
is going to reflect its parts. You are the parts. So as you look at these three glasses,
remember to always honor yourselves, honor each other, and honor your union
with equality and balance.

Bride and Groom then together pick up the center glass, each with both hands on
the glass, they then together drink from it as celebrant continues, then return it to
the altar

Let the spirit of Love grant this to be a true spiritual union, a rich and full blending
of hearts and souls and purposes. Bless them each with the inner gifts of trust,
compassion, gratitude, forgiveness, kindness and truth that they may live and grow
together in love and in peace.”
