~ Rose Ceremony ~

“Irene Zhu, as the future comes from the past, know that without you this day would not be
taking place. As we all know marriage is a coming together of two lives and a celebration of
the love of two people. But it is so much more than that alone. The love that Yanan and
Michael feel for one another is the flowering of a seed planted by you and by Yanan‘s mother
Yanzhu Ma in their hearts years ago. The very reason they know how to give and receive love
itself is a direct result of the love that they were shown by you their mothers as they grew into
the man and woman that we see here today. Your children love you very much and thought
that now would be the perfect time to remind you of this, by offering you these symbols of
eternal love, these roses.

The Grooms mother is presented each with a rose

“May you be blessed with many healthy happy years of watching the next generation thrive.”

~ Pronouncement of Marriage ~

“In the same way that marriage is more than the sum of it’s parts,
joining a man and woman and two families, it has always been the immigrant
that has made America great. When ever you see this building may it remind you that you are
one in your marriage and with this nation. Both of these things grow and thrive because of
your care and dedication to a quality of life that is
"The American Dream".

Having witnessed your marriage vows with those present here,
and by the authority vested in me by the state of New York,
it is my honor and privilege to pronounce you husband and wife.
Michael you may kiss your beautiful Bride!”

Couple kiss and exit to greet their guests!
What a roller coaster ride of emotions we had with Yanan and Michael, From the excitement of
winning, to the let down of the Bride's  mother being unable to get a visa to come to the
wedding. Yet as it turns out every cloud has a silver lining! Brides.com arranged for the first
time in 2009 to have live streaming video web cast all day long of all 14 weddings! Yanan's
mother got to see her daughter get married! And the Rose ceremony below was addressed to
both moms.....
Hi April,

It has been a wonderful experience for both Yanan and I to be part of ESB/Valentine's Day
wedding ceremony. We're glad the way it turned out and most amazingly Yanan's mom and
dad were able to watch it live in China. They were so happy to see the entire event unfold and
news coverage afterward. We truly appreciated and thank you on all the works you did for our
wedding.

Regards,
Yanan and Mike
