“Dearly beloved, we are gathered here today to celebrate the marriage of Heidi and Kevin. It
was a year ago this past New Years Eve that Kevin proposed to Heidi, and she made him feel
like he was on top of the world by saying yes. This day holds so much meaning for them, in
many ways and they would like to wish you all a Happy Valentines Day. They would also like
to thank you for coming all this way to be with them. They know how hard it was to let them
go when they first enlisted, but they also know how proud you are of them now. With their
time together being so limited and precious, and those they love spread thought the country, it
means the world to them to have you all here to witness the vows they make today. Perhaps it
was fitting that they were allowed so few guests, because you are those whom they love most
in the world. You have showed them that home and family are worth fighting for because of
the love that lives there. The Empire State building is one of our nation's greatest symbols of
freedom, strength, beauty and perseverance. These are also the qualities that time and love will
perfect in a good marriage.

Heidi and Kevin, May God grant that all you now share  deepen and grow through the years.
That you will continue to find comfort in each other’s presence, joy in each other‘s laughter,
and a light in each other’s eyes to remind you always of the mystical union of spirit which is
the ideal of marriage.”
